Melissa De la Cruz, writer the new “Gotham High” YA comic, was interviewed for Entertainment Weekly, and made great mention of how and why she made Bruce Wayne Chinese-American in the story.

…. Except there are no Chinese/Hong Kong references for him in the preview comic panels provided.

There ARE references however, to another Asian country in which America had a checkered history and fascination…
