Nice, High Quality Switch
I have replaced the socket in this lamp twice before using cheaper replacement sockets. The rotary switches on those sockets were clunky and hard to rotate. This switch is a huge quality improvement! The rotary switch operates smoothly and easily, no sticking. The previous low quality sockets also seemed to cause the low-light filament of 3 way light bulbs to burn out quickly, so I was constantly replacing the bulbs.
One thing to know about these sockets is that the top and bottom sections unscrew from each other, this provides access to the contacts for installation. That is another sign of the higher quality of this socket, as the other sockets simply snapped together with thin, fragile metal bumps, where this product has actual threads that hold well. Much better quality than the brass sockets.
