GRID 2 Multiplayer Gameplay: Tier 3 Best Upgrade Setup for Ariel Atom 3 w/ Red Bull Racing Livery
This video is demonstrating the best upgrade setup for this car. The setup is 2 levels of engine and the rest is zero. I've discovered this upgrade setup 2 months ago and realised how much of an improvement it is and how the 2 handling upgrades hardly improve the car at all.
GRID 2 [HD] 720p PC Multiplayer Race gameplay with keyboard using a Tier 3 Upgraded Ariel Atom 3 with a custom Red Bull Racing livery. The 2nd and 3rd race was made 1 month ago, but the last race I wanted to feature California Big Sur so that it can be compared with my previous video with the 1 engine 2 handling upgrade. But playlist being a bitch not choosing and rammers, and I got fed up with multiplayer already. So I ended up featuring the recent Global Challenge of T3 California Big Sur powerlap.
First race is Global Challenge T3 California Big Sur Powerlap with a time of 2:40.564, it's the current fastest Ariel Atom 3 time and 3rd fastest time in the World Ranking. 2nd race is multiplayer online in Okutama Mizu Mountain and third race is Algarve, National Circuit.
GRID 2 Multiplayer is totally a separate portion of the game. You start from scratch and earn money and level up. You save up money to buy cars and upgrades, and by leveling up, unlocks new cars to buy. Cars in Multiplayer are upgradeable.
I have made a video and review of this car with level 1 engine and 2 handling upgrade setup here.

Description for this upgrade setup:
Ariel Atom 3 has the best handling in Tier 3 with very good acceleration. It's main weakness is power which is why people that could handle the powerful Gran Tourers can beat the Ariel Atom 3. But here is the thing, the 1-0-2 upgrade is the reason why it can easily lose to decent Gran Tourer drivers. And what I discovered is that the 2 handling DOES not improve the handling and cornering speed. What these 2 upgrade did is to make the car grippy and more stable. More grippy = you lose speed while turning and sliding, more stable = more easier to spin out, harder to drift. This is similar to the BAC Mono with and without the handling upgrades You can see this effect by comparing the Big Sur runs. Sure the 2 handling upgrade makes it easier to drive on maps like Big Sur since you can grip certain corners where it requires a little slide without the upgrade, but there is no difference in maps like Algarve or Chicago. In other words, the 2 handling upgrade is giving you an illusion the car handles and corners better, just like a condom. With the 2 engine upgrades on the Ariel Atom, you can literally compete with Gran Tourers in almost any kind of map now and get called a hacker for managing to hold up in the straights against Corvettes.
Drawbacks and characteristics you need to be aware off:
As mentioned before, the car is not as stable with the 2 handling upgrades. Just be careful of exits of corners if you are gripping with this setup as the car may start to slide at the exit.
Verdict:
Superb acceleration while still maintaining superior cornering and handling without the handling upgrades. If you are still using the 1-0-2 upgrade which literally almost every single Ariel Atom 3 driver I've seen is using online, switch and slide this damn thing.
