Grounded is a survival action game focused on cooperative mode. The production was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, known for titles such as The Outer Worlds, Fallout: New Vegas and the Pillars of Eternity series.
Mechanics
In Grounded, player characters are reduced to the size of ants and must survive in the dangerous backyard of a sleepy American suburb. Tasks that are simple for a man of standard dimensions become a real challenge for the game's heroes. While playing, they are forced to collect raw materials, construct items and build a base using a variety of everyday objects.
During the game, we can choose between a first- and third-person view. The game world is inhabited by various aggressive creatures (e.g. spiders or ants) that hunt players. We deal with enemies using primitive weapons of our own construction, such as spears or bows. You can also create armor and trampolines that allow you to travel around locations faster.
The game boasts extensive artificial intelligence modules that recreate animal behavior known from reality. For example, ants function as colonies. After finding something interesting (e.g. us), scouts leave pheromones that allow other ants to reach the same place or warn them against the players' actions. Moreover, our development does not go unnoticed and expansion will sooner or later bring down the wrath of the local fauna.
The game is diversified by the technology tree. In it, we slowly unlock better and better items, weapons and structures that make it easier to deal with increasingly serious threats. Moreover, apart from the typical sandbox gameplay, there are also many story missions.
Technical issues
In Grounded, we can play alone or in cooperation mode for up to four people.
