With all the lockdowns still going on, I've been playing through a couple of classic games lately, one of which is GTA Vice City. I always felt the street races in this game were too easy since your opponents drive like idiots and as long as you have an Infernus or a Cheetah and drive somewhat competently, you'll win without any trouble. After I remembered that you can bring any vehicle you want to the race, I decided to level the playing field a bit by bringing some less than ideal vehicles for the VC Endurance race. Here's what I picked:

1. Landstalker - 0:00

I hate this car. Not only does it have bouncy suspension but it also has a high center of mass. Add both of those together and you have a car that loves to roll over so you have to be very careful in the corners. It's also very light so crashes will cost it most of it's speed and often cause it to spin out of control as well. It's only saving grace is it's decent straight line speed and acceleration.

2. Coach - 6:17

Surprisingly easy. For a vehicle this big, it has an impressive amount of straight line speed and acceleration. However since it's so long it handles like a brick, I had to use the handbrake a lot to coax it through the corners so it was hard to carry any speed. It's still a big vehicle though so it easily bullies and blocks the opponents which helped greatly. Even a popped tire and a few dumb crashes on my part didn't stop this beast from winning.

3. Boxville - 13:20

I was originally gonna use the Yankee here but it was much faster than I expected and handled surprisingly well. The Boxville by comparison is a bit slower but it's main handicap is the high center of mass which much like the Landstalker, makes it prone to rolling (as evidenced by a pretty funny crash near the end of the race). None the less, it still has enough straight line speed to hold it's own and get a solid victory.

4. Flatbed - 20:09

The hardest of the bunch. The Flatbed has enough speed to win this, but only just. It handles very well for a large vehicle though I still needed the handbrake to get through some of the tighter corners. Much like the Coach, it also easily bullies the opponents since it's so big. Unfortunately since the Flatbed's acceleration is below average, you almost have to rely on the opponents crashing in order to win if they're able to pass you which is very likely to happen once you reach Prawn Island.
