Guedes criticizes Brazil's "dirigist economy"
18💰 Power Economy | Former Economy Minister Paulo Guedes posted a video on Instagram on Sunday (6.Jul.2025) in which he comments on the direction of the Brazilian and South American economies. In the recording, Guedes praises the economic adjustment promoted by Argentina under the government of Javier Milei (La Libertad Avanza, right) and criticizes what he calls the "dirigist economy", a model that, according to him, harms the region's growth.
“The Brazilian tragedy and the tragedy of South America was exactly this dirigist economy. Every time the government starts spending a lot, it has to finance the expenses, it starts raising taxes”, he declared.
