Welcome to my detailed guide to beat Top Secrets with Yuffie & Sonon!
If you follow these step by step instructions, you'll be able to reliably beat the 3 encounters without any troubles, and you might also learn a few tricks in the process ;-)

EQUIPMENT: YUFFIE
- Boomerang has the highest Magic Attack and we'll rely heavily on magic for this strategy.
- Gozu Drive for extra damage
- Chthonian Armlet because it's needed for Gozu Drive to work and it's our best Armor piece anyway.
- Boomerang also has Reprieve, which we won't need for this strategy but it's always nice to have an extra life if you mess up. It gives you another chance to recover and finish the job.

EQUIPMENT: SONON
- Indurate Staff for highest Physical Attack, which will help us apply pressure when doing Synergized Attacks.
- Firebird Armlet has nice defenses and an extra life if things go wrong. You can swap this for another armor such as Force Bracelet if you prefer the extra materia slot. But high defense is nice on Sonon who tends to get hit a lot.
- Kindred Cord is a must have. Sonon doesn't generate ATB quickly, so this Accessory will allow us to use more Synergize Attacks, which are an important part of our strategy.

MATERIA: YUFFIE
- Elemental (linked)
- Wind (linked)
- First Strike
- ATB Assist
- ATB Stagger
- Skill Master
- ATB Boost
- Lightning
- Magic Up
- MP Up
- Ramuh

All these materias are necessary for our strategy to work and should be maxed out.
The quickest way to level up your materias is the Shinra Combat Simulator. Simply repeat the first fight of the Rank 4 Challenge (Yuffie & Sonon vs. Midgarian Monsters). But if you find that too boring, you can also repeat the whole Rank 3 Challenge (Yuffie & Sonon vs. Shinra's Dark Secrets).
Don't forget to use your Ninja Armlet and Volant Armlet for AP multiplicators and slot in the materias which are the longest to level up (Elemental, Magic Up, HP Up, MP Up).

MATERIA: SONON
- Synergy (linked)
- Lightning (linked)
- HP UP
- HP UP
- MP UP
- MP UP
- Revival/Time/Barrier
- Ninja Cannonball
- First Strike

Synergy Materia used to be garbage because it used to consume ATB. This is no longer the case and it now gives you a nice bonus damage. Sonon will cast a free Thunder everytime Yuffie uses an ATB Command.
Revival or Time or Barrier is just for the bonus Magic Attack stat.
Ninja Cannonball is an underated materia. It does good damage and fills up Sonon's ATB by 0.5 ATB, which is quite useful considering how slow Sonon builds ATB.
Other materias are pretty obvious.


Weapon abilities

You need to have 100% proficiency (which means having learned) the following two weapon abilities:
Swirling Storm (Sonon)
Banishment (Yuffie)

Battle Settings
I personally like to bind Brumal Form to CIRCLE for shortcut uses.
Brumal Form might be the most overpowered ability in FF7 Remake Intermission:
- It has quite a lot of "Invincibilty Frames", making it easy to use. No need to have godlike reflexes
- It costs only 1/3rd ATB to use
- You gain about 1/2 ATB back when you successfully dodge with it
- If you use it twice in a row, it triggers ATB Assist, giving ATB back to Sonon
So you really should bind it to a shortcut and start using it a lot ;-)

Fight #1: Bahamut

Bahamut is the hardest of the 3 bosses you have to beat, but it's also the most consistent one. So once you've got the right strategy, you'll beat him everytime, there will be no surprises.
This strategy allows you to NO DAMAGE Bahamut and to completely bypass Ifrit.
The initial goal is to quickly bring Bahamut down to 70% HP to apply PRESSURE before he does his first countdown.

Fight #2: Ramuh

Ramuh is the easiest of all 3 and he can go down very quickly with 3 Synergized Windstorms.
However, do not underestimate him. If you get hit by one of his spells you'll most likely end up stunned and you can die quickly from here.
So the key to this fight is to to focus on dodging primarily and waiting for a safe moment to use Synergized Windstorm.

Fight #3 Pride and Joy Mk 0.5

Goal is simple: exploit Pride and Joy MK 0.5's weakness to Lightning, keep your distances and cycle Thundagas until you get the STAGGER.
