The first is a jump executed incorrectly. However, if you time a jump correctly, it results in the second one as a momentum transfer. It appears there are frames where the Gun Dodge is still in effect at the end of the dash, thus why you can buffer options. Not sure how it works properly, though.
Very interesting advancement, imo.
Note that my control stick is neutral at the time of the jump. If I held forward I would not go anywhere near as far anyway, as Joker's air acceleration doesn't allow it.
