This was way better than Halo 1 Anniversary, for sure. That felt like a cheap model replacement. This one plays exactly the same and everything, but actually feels like it has had some care and direction to the remastering. Flashy new CGI cutscenes probably helped.
I can't even complain about the music replacement. "Blow Me Away" and "Follow" have nostalgia to them, but it's a bit cheesy to have licensed rock music in a sci-fi shooter, eh? Still, the game just felt weird. I had the same feeling playing Modern Warfare 2 remastered. Maybe it's psychological, like some weird disconnect between something feeling like something you've already played dozens of times through and the way it looks completely different from the original.
