In 2008, Type-Z played with a different roster for our first competitive game of Halo 3 against MLG Championship team Believe the Hype (BTH). My team, Type-Z Halo 2, consisted of my old friends Hulk, Ownation, and Str8pimp, who had already made a name for ourselves in Halo 2. However, no one believed that I, can transition to Halo 3 with no competitive Halo experience onto Halo 3 and perform well. ( I am the multigame legend 😎)

Our original Halo 3 team included YungHeat, D3monD, Wildcard, and myself. As a group we were easily beating pro teams online with some unique strategies I came up with. Although I had previously played first-person shooter (FPS) titles that relied heavily on individual skills and light teamwork like Unreal Tournament, Wolfenstein, Doom, Call of Duty 2 and Quake. I learned that in Halo, the key to winning was a different kind of teamwork and sacrificing individual play for the sake of objectives and assists. That means I would have 2 players go Obj assist and 2 main Slayers as backup Obj. It's hard to explain but on paper it was an elite tactic that I haven't watched any Halo teams do at the time. At the end of game 2 Support slayers/Obj players would have around 30+ assist and the 2 Main slayers/Obj players would have 30+ frags.

Unfortunately, our team eventually fell apart due to a player named Mudvayn3, who made up stories to one of our youngest players, D3monD, to break our group up. Mudvayn3 and his team then began challenging us to scrimmages, even though they knew we had lost our Main Slayer D3monD & YoungHeat decided to call it quits for Halo 3 if we can't organize the same group. I didn't bow down to gamers so I knew my gaming talent would always flourish on any FPS I played. I did moved onto a game called Shadowrun and our team won against top tier teams from all different type of games that moved onto this game. Not to get off subject but the events for Shadowrun had a total of 8 games but the first major tournament had over 64+ teams and the only game I ever played that had 0 ping for everyone in the United States.

Back to Halo 3 our group accepted the challenge from BTH and brought in replacements from Mexico named Akef and Nano to fill in for D3monD and Yung Heat. We wanted to not only beat BTH but also prove to Mudvayn3 that our teamwork and strategies were what made us dominant, not just individual slaying skills. It's a Spartan thing that the tactic only works as a team.

Unfortunately, we lost the match in a very close game against BTH, but we knew that the results would have been different if we still had our prime roster. With D3monD and Yung Heat showing us how to improve at slaying and Wildcard and myself showing them how to work as a team, we had a shot at winning a championship.

After this experience, Wildcard and I were unable to find two better players to replace D3monD and Yung Heat. We eventually quit competitive gaming altogether, with Wildcard joining the Marines and starting a family. However, we all still keep in touch and have gatherings every summer.

Despite the drama caused by Mudvayn3, I still give credit to Cloudy Cloud, the leader of BTH, for their victories and success in Halo 3. Heinz, another player on their team, has also always been a great player, consistently placing in the top 8 at every event.

I hope you enjoy the video. Unfortunately, I don't have any videos of Wildcard, D3monD, YoungHeat and myself competing as a team because it was normal smacking down Pro teams online. Lan could've been a different story but we may never know as our main squad never got the opportunity to show what we were made of.
