There is a new Halo MCC Microtransactions controversy now since 343 Industries is considering adding them with an update to Halo MCC in 2022. The Master Chief Collection has an in game store called the exchange but currently the currency is only earnable in game without any kind of mtx. While there wont be a season 9 in MCC by title these new "Series" updates will add content and QOL features to the game. New mod tools and steam workshop things seem to be on the way for all the mods and modders out there. This news does come as a surprise since Halo Infinite and its F2P multiplayer already feature microtransactions. I'm sure the Halo reddit is having a field day with this.
