Happy New Year! It's time to start 2017 off fresh.

First of all, thank you for 17K subscribers! I don't have 17,000 accounts so this wasn't my doing; you all helped me get here. My channel has been needing an update for quite some time now. This video altogether is a TL;DR, so every point made in it will be elaborated here.

One: YouTube as a whole
I don't have an upload schedule, which should be pretty obvious by now. In mid-2016, I'd upload once every month or two months at best, and in the recent weeks I uploaded 5 shitposts (lol still sorry not sorry). I've only had the time to edit all those due to winter break, so once I go back to college my time will be a bit limited. However, I can spare some time to make at least one video a month.

Two: Siri Plays
To be honest, you can tell by the lack of Siri Plays episodes on my channel that the series was never my main focus. Since it has been shared across YouTube, though, I can't leave my new audience hanging. There really is no reason I shouldn't be producing more episodes, anyway. They do take a lot of time, money, effort, and motivation to create. Because it has gotten so popular, I will make more, however at a certain expense. The video says "should" have a new episode once a month, and that's the max I can do; the next best would be every other month. This is good because it gives me more time to prepare regulated episodes rather than lower its quality to make more frequent installments. Plus I need sleep. I'm human. It's the best of both worlds.

Three: Patreon
I can tell by my viewers' enthusiasm that there are people willing to support my content! With Patreon, I can create more videos at a higher quality, and possibly more often. I just know that any value will help me get somewhere I couldn't before. The link to it is further down in the description (rewards are being developed!).

Four: Rebranding
On August 17th, 2009, I created TheVenomousgamer. For years it was fitting, because I was a gamer, and my nickname was Venomous and the like. But, as time went on, TheVenomousgamer no longer suited me as decently as it did in the past. Sure, I'm still a gamer, but I haven't been "Venomous" for years. I haven't felt like a "Venomous".
I've been Ven since 2013, and halcyon has been one of my favorite words for some reason. I think it was 2014 when I came up with the username Halvencyon, and I've been using it for social media over TheVenomousgamer. After 7 years, my channel has needed a major update, and I've wanted to rename it for the last 2 years. Today is the day that I am Halvencyon. But you can call me Ven. It's simple. It's better. New year, new me.

Thank you so much for these last few weeks, few months, and 7 years. Here's to a wonderful 2017.
