This tutorial will teach you about how to use the hammer editor to create (awesome) maps in portal 2. It depends on yourself. ;-)
This tutorial is in German, however, it consists of basic stuff for a good guideline. Enjoy it :)

° basic properties for custom sound files: 44.100 kHz, 128 bit

° go to Tools ---+ options ---+ Build Programs: replace "{portal 2 installation directory}\steamapps\common\Portal 2\portal2.exe" to "{portal 2 installation directory}\steamapps\common\Portal 2\bin\bspzip.exe"

° after hit F9, switch to expert, if not done yet, add a new command and move this up. The already existing command "Copy File" should be the last activated command. Name the new command with: *$game_exe*. Add paramter: _-addlist $path\$file.bsp $path\$file.txt $path\$file.bsp_. Finally, activate this new command and hit "Go!".
You should see that the compiler is going to add the custom sound file(s).
