In this cosplay show and tell session I will be showing you my build of the DL-44 blaster that Han Solo used in the original star wars namely A New Hope (ANH) and then again in the 2015 release of Star Wars Episode 7. I did a lot of research and studying of the findings of the RPF as to what was considered the most accurate replica you can make based on what was used to make the original prop weapon in the Star Wars movies. I am all about making Comic Con friendly props and cosplay builds though so I couldn't make mine from the real guns, metal scopes, and machine gun flash hiders, etc.. So I used the dimensions and sizes of the real things and made them out of plastic and comic con friendly materials so that anybody could make a very real looking DL-44 blaster and use it with their Han Solo cosplay or even a Luke Skywalker or just general Rebel Cosplay. The DL-44 blaster, in the Star Wars universe was quite a popular weapon, but nobody sported it better than Han Solo himself! Made primarily from PVC pipe and a Moldable Plastic called Polly Plastics
The materials are easy to work with, takes minimal tools, and can be done in your apartment or a small space as you can see in the video :) You don't need a lathe or other large woodshop or metal working tools to build and it is stronger and more water resistant than paper, cardboard or other materials.
