There's plenty going on when it comes to combining portable touchscreen gaming and physical controllers. One interesting approach is the Wikipad, which combined a 7-inch Android tablet (basically a modified Nexus 7) with a clip-in joypad harness. This has 2 joysticks, 4 shoulder buttons, stereo speakers, 4 action buttons and a D-pad. It's launching at $249/£249.

This footage comes from GDC 2013, with the game being Madfinger's Dead Trigger. It comes pre-loaded on the Wikipad along with Shadowgun: Deadzone and Hockey NHL, plus Big Fish Games' Unlimited streamling service, Google Play and TegraZone.
