Chevaliers De Sangreal is a glorious piece by Hans Zimmer. He has this knack for writing film music with a slight pop sensibility. If we think of Gladiator, Inception and Interstellar -- the underpinning of the music is a modest melody with a relatively basic, but momentous chord progression. It's the repetition of these dramatic chords that gives Zimmer's best music its ethereal quality.
The other instrumentation seems to crescendo and decrescendo the progression. Even though were listening to the same riff over and over, it's doesn't feel repetitive, and our senses are awash in the music. Because of the underlying simplicity, we feel the pull of the crescendo.
