Happy #PokemonDay, Trainers! + Lycanroc-GX Accelerates Into Pokémon TCG!
6Welcome back, Pokémon Trainers! It's time again for a weekly news update video thingy!
- Happy Pokémon Day, everybody! 21 years ago today, the very first Pokémon Game Boy games, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, were released in Japan, and it's been an exciting ride ever since. Let's celebrate the big anniversary!
- Once again, I've got some Pokémon TCG booster packs to open up! This week will be Fates Collide, Evolutions, and Sun & Moon with the code cards (as always) going out to some lucky viewers. I'll open up the boosters near the end of the video, and give you viewers the Question of the Day to respond to. Leave your response in a comment down below using the hashtag #QOTD, and you'll be entered into the running to receive one of the code cards (chosen randomly) when I do the drawing this coming Sunday, March 5 (not March 6, as I kept mistakenly calling it in the video, oops).
- #PokemonDay is being celebrated in a bunch of different ways. Perhaps most noticably is by Pikachu in Pokémon GO, who can now be spotted wearing a special party hat when you encounter one in the wild! Party hat Pikachu will be available from February 26, 1:00 PST to March 6, 1:00 PST, and will keep its party hat indefinitely (even after the event concludes)! So get out there today and get hunting!
- All-new Pokémon Gallery Figures are coming exclusively to the United States Pokémon Center. These high-quality figures feature iconic Pokémon using signature attacks: Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, Eevee uses Swift, Magikarp uses Splash, and Mew uses Psychic. This is only the first Gallery Figure collection to be released, with more to come in the future.
- In celebration of #PokemonDay, a special Pokémon movie marathon is taking place on Pokémon TV. For a limited time, you can watch Pokémon: The First Movie, Pokémon 4Ever, and Pokémon - Zoroark: Master of Illusions. Also available now, via the iTunes Store, Google Play, and Amazon Video, you can find Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, plus a Pokémon the Series: Gold & Silver TV episode bundle for even more anime action!
- A special New Nintendo 3DS XL is now available, the now Pikachu Yellow Edition. This limited-edition handheld features a stylish sketch of Pikachu in honor of #PokemonDay, and is sure to be quite popular, so pick one up for yourself soon!
- Check out a #PokemonDay celebration over at Twitch.tv/Pokemon, showcasing memorable matches from Pokémon TCG, video games, and Pokkén Tournament from past competitions, including some from recent Pokémon World Championships!
- A new Pokémon TCG collection is now available: the Lycanroc-GX Box. Featuring the midday form of Lycanroc, this collection comes with a Lycanroc-GX promo card, an oversized copy of Lycanroc-GX, 4 Pokémon TCG booster packs, and a Pokémon TCG Online code card to unlock Lycanroc-GX in the online game.
