I don't really know why, but today I decided to play through one of the worst 2D shooters I have ever played just to see how bad it gets. The first level in this game on easy difficulty is already virtually impossible, and it just gets worse and worse later on. When I arrived at the final boss, I decided I had to record the madness.

Biometal is an extremely terrible 2D shooter. It is creatively bankrupt - the enemy designs are clichéd and uninspired, the level design and enemy placements are just randomly thrown together, and the bullet patterns are completely random as well. This game lacks any fine-tuning whatsoever, and for anyone who knows a thing or two about the genre, it is painfully obvious that virtually no effort was put into this game.

The game is pretty much unplayable, as well. The screen pans around weirdly when you fly up and down - play it yourself and you will notice that the controls are really awkward. Also, and this should be painfully obvious, the game is absurdly difficult. I do in no way claim to be good at 2D shooters, but I can hold my ground in most Cave shooters and beat them in a reasonable amount of credits. In this game, I can't even beat the first level on the easiest difficulty setting.
