Before anyone mentions it, YES I like Mike Diva and after watching his version of the Harlem Shake video I wanted to give it a try. I really like his color correction technique and wanted to experiment to get something similar to his style. Not because I want to copy him but because as an editor I like to try new things to expand my skills.

What I did is with Magic Bullet Looks I added Diffusion, Anamorphic Flare, Lens Distortion, Chromatic Aberration.

Also Twitch plugin with the Scale and Slide behavior selected. The slide option I added the RGB split a bit.

Add grain and distorted/bad film effects. More color correction on top of everything. Also I blew out the individual colors of each character and added the cartoon filter.

For the "Fuzzy" glow coming from behind each character. Select your footage, duplicate it and for the bottom copy add the CC Radial Fast Blur and increase the amount. Be sure to center the direction of the blur on your character.

That's just a quick run down of what I did. ITS VERY RAM INTENSIVE from all the color correction going on. If you don't have some of the plugins, just mess around with AE filters and you may find something similar.

You can also find free stock footage, like I did, on YouTube. Just search for green screen footage.

I found what I needed from Footage Island:
