Hawt Dawg Man Is The Key! [Life is Strange 2 + Captain Spirit Theory]

There is a lot of imagry and metaphors in Captain Spirit. Which are clues and which are red herrings I do not know. But I’m going to try my best to understand them. From horses to death, let’s dive in.
So I was wondering why I felt so strongly that Chris was dead at the end of captain spirit. I couldn’t think of why. And so I kept pondering until I got a kind anonymous message on tumblr who helped me go into the right direction.
There is death everywhere. Now to be fair this could also be a sign of him dealing with the death of his mother, so you don’t have to go along with what I’m thinking. But seeing all the death can still be fun. Don’t worry I’ll talk about other imagery than death.
Chris has a scythe in his toybox of weapons, which is often used as a symbol of death.
As I said in a previous video I think the name “captain spirit” is foreshadowing to Chris becoming a spirit. His powers in the main Life is Strange 2 series will be that of a spirit. Much like the bound spirit in the book “the bone doll’s twin” Seriously you all need to read this book it’s one of my favorite books.
The main theme for Captain Spirit is called “death with dignity”. I mean… come on. But again it could be about chris dealing with the loss of his mother.
When chris is playing in the car and reenacting the death of his mother in a fantastical way, he pretends he is dead at the end. (mantroid, his fantasy enemy, is a mix of the street names where his mother died).
There are also mentions of horses in two instances that i know of.
The theme song of Captain Spritit, Death with Dignity has the line “Oh be near me, tired old mare, with the wind in your hair”. Mare being a female horse. The song also speaks about wanting to be near their mother but can’t be.
And this clever reddit user scanned a QR code in the game that said “A ragged colt may make a good horse” which is short for “A ragged colt may prove a good horse. And so may an untoward slovenly boy prove a decent and useful man”
So official Life is Strange 2 animal is the horse. You heard me life is strange fan artists. Time to draw the horses.

And lastly we have the iconic hot dog man. Some people have pointed out that the comic could be a foreshadowing of the overall plot of Life is Strange 2. That may seem silly but I want to believe.
The comic shows hot dawg man walking alone in the rain. And some people believe that the backpack shown in the teaser trailer leans to the idea of the main character wandering and traveling a lot. Then mustard shows up and let’s him in his car. They then drive for a bit with a rainbow in their wake.

Then they meet a bigger foe. A foe that is also mustard. Which i mean. Ok. I think what this means is that chris and someone else will meet up in a desperate time and make friends. One of them will face a big fear or threat and they will need to face it together.
What I find interesting about this is that in the mini game on the phone, hot dawg man and mustard work together. Mustard has the power of flight and hawt dawg man has the power to run. I think whatever happens there will be two people working together. One with powers, and the other with a more grounded set of abilities.
My crazy off the wall theory is that chris will be dead and have the powers of a spirit, while the neighbor kid will be tied to chris in some way. They will navigate through life’s challenges using chris’ powers and the neighbor kids corporeal form. Working together. Just like mustard and hot dawg man.
