The head of the Army has warned future operations may mean accepting greater risks because soldiers won't have the same local knowledge and experience as Afghanistan. During a speech in London, the Chief of General Staff, General Sir Peter Wall said returning to being a contingency force should mean greater professional development and a better work life balance for servicemen and women. General Wall is leading the Army at a time he acknowledged is to many a strategic crossroads but the introspection on the Army's future would soon be over. His tasks to reshape the Army include ending the combat mission in Afghanistan by 2015.
