I'm definitely not going to go lie, Hell Pie is a great 3D platformer with both nostalgic and funny gameplay!
One day you get a phone call from Satan instructing you to ask the chef about his special cake. It's Satan's birthday and the cook has totally forgotten about it. What follows is a crazy story.
Hell Pie is a 3D platformer that in our eyes focuses on adult gamers, especially with humor and bloody scenes.
But let's face it, this is a teen game anyway, I would definitely play this when I was younger and today I played it too and later I'll turn it on again to continue playing!
It's a pleasant title that keeps you sweet through four different worlds.
The visual style fits perfectly with the setting that the developer wants to create and here too it is not really taken seriously, because that way you get styes as enemies or real plants in the form of genitals. There are some bugs here and there, but they can of course be fixed with an update.
Through the four different worlds you will search for a number of unique ingredients that the cook needs to bake his cake.
Of course, you are not alone, as you get help from a captive angel, Nugget.
Nugget corpse reminds me a bit of Eric Cartman, I can't give a good explanation for this either.
You can use it to fight enemies, but also as a grappling hook to get to higher or further positions. The open world also allows this, but of course you will experience a linear progression with which you can only travel to the next world when you have collected enough ingredients.
A 3D platformer is of course nothing without collectables and we can reassure you that there are enough in Hell Pie. You have cans of food that you can collect, with which you can upgrade Nugget and, for example, unlock an extra swing. You will find small creatures with a horn hidden, with which you can give Nate an upgrade.
Throughout the levels you will find teleporters. These are devices that serve as checkpoints and fast travel, while also saving your progress.
The enemies also seem to be placed very statically in the levels, which makes for a stable challenge, but not impossible either.
