Ok so since last week, DC seem to be completely knocking it out of the park with every announcement. Not only has Ruby Rose left Batman, but the long awaited, much anticipated Justice League Snyder Cut is making it's way to HBO Max next year.
Henry Cavills future in the franchise has been pretty much up in the air with there being no sign of a Man Of Steel 2 and rumours circulated that he'd stepped away from the role after Warner Bros were unwilling to pay his asking price.
This was given further weight when a body double appeared as Supes in Shazam and yeah, there's been no real confirmation on what's going on with him.
However, he did pop up in the Man Of Steel Stream last week hosted by Snyder and since the announcement of the Snyder Cut, Deadline have broke the internet by announcing that he's in talks to come back.
This comes in the wake of a rumoured supergirl project being scrapped so that the studio could focus on returning and though Man Of Steel 2 has not been announced, the website does say that the actor could come back in several interesting ways.
Now what does this mean, well personally I'm still not sure whether the character will be back for a solo project, however, I do think that he would fit brilliantly into the upcoming black adam movie with the rock, or even as a mentor character for Shazam.
Warner Bros will not have to pay Cavill the full price that he wants as he will not be a lead but it also keeps him at the studio and makes fans happy.
Henry of course kick started the DCEU in his solo movie but since then he's been cast to the side as the studio seem to focus on more important projects like a black hawks movie, I can't believe that got greenlit.
I think after Birds Of Prey underperformed money wise, the studio have taken a step back and realised that Superman still should be their bread and butter and thus they have tried to come up with a way to integrate him into their universe.
Now personally I think that he may follow a similar sort of role to say what the Hulk or Iron Man did in the MCU. Hulk especially was always a side character who due to the rights being held by Universal was unable to appear in solo movies. Whilst the legalities aren't at play here with Henry, I think he will be brought in as a side character or mentor figure that then is brought into the main battles for say your big Justice League crossovers.
Now I have to stress that this hasn't been confirmed yet, no matter what websites or youtubers tell you but it does...
