Herald Of Havoc: Episode 3 - Havoc 100% with Commentary
Despite Episode 3 being the finale, I still think it's without a doubt the easiest part of HOH. While the previous 2 Episodes had 8 maps each, this one only contains 5 maps, and only the first 3 pose any kind of threat.
E3M1 is the second easiest map in Episode 3. The gimmick is you've only got 10 health and will need to utilize the Runeblade to clear the stage, as well as a bit of patience. While you can die rather quickly, there's plenty of cover, the Runeblade has its damage buffed, and the level is pretty short. In short, dying here isn't going to lose you a lot of time and the level's short enough to breeze through once you get the hang of it.
E3M2 is difficult but I wouldn't call it a roadblock. The hardest part to me is the beginning section since there's so many projectiles and not that much space to dodge. Final fight can be a bit rough but by now it should be a walk in the park. I do really like this map and think the concept of using batteries to access new areas is really cool.
E3M3 is the second time you get the Infinite Ammo pickup, but don't let that fool you because this is an absolute beast of a level. This is the only roadblock Episode 3 has to offer, and while it's nowhere near as difficult as some of the maps in Episode 2 imo, you still shouldn't underestimate this one.
The last 2 maps are hardly worth mentioning... E3M4 seems heavily inspired by DUSK, with different areas from previous maps being shoved together to make some eery environments without being difficult in the slightest. E3M5 just pits you against the boss, who's only really dangerous in the second phase. Just pump him full of lightning & bullets and try to stall for as long as possible on the platforms, and you'll win.
Even though Episode 3 isn't nearly as long or challenging as the previous 2 Episodes, I still enjoyed it quite a bit and think the first 3 maps are really cool. As a complete product, Herald Of Havoc is easily my favorite game I've played this year. It incorporates what I think are the best qualities from some of my other all time favorite games like DUSK & Serious Sam and blends it together effortlessly in a beautifully put together package. I highly recommend checking this out if you're a fan of other "boomer shooters" or are just looking for a good challenge.
Thanks again for watching and as always, stay Serious!
