Welcome to BFE Redux! This mod was created by SeriousAmaro as a love letter to the default BFE campaign by doing various small changes that improve overall pacing.

I know what you're thinking, "oh great, yet another BFE fan remake... What makes this one so special Mr. Steak?" Well in short, it's vanilla BFE but better.

This mod features loads of QOL improvements that make it a more cohesive experience, such as more backtracking opportunities, better ammo distribution, more enemy and weapon variety in fights, unintrusive hints, improved pacing, the ability to finally get 100% kills in all levels, and a lot more!

In terms of what the mod changes, it adds 2 new secrets to each level, introduces the Sniper & Laser as progression weapons outside of secrets, adds in Reptiloids from Jewel of The Nile, and changes up the items found inside of secrets to help with pacing if going for 100% in levels. There are also some minor changes to level layout and fight structure, but chances are you won't notice them unless you're very familiar with the original campaign.

What truly makes this mod unique to me is the level of restraint and care put into making it. It could have very easily been just another BFE remake that settles for adding in a bunch of ammo & enemies and called it a day, but it doesn't do that. Instead, a lot of love and care was put into making sure you never have too much or too little ammo, that the fights are fun and provide a good challenge, that sections which sucked were improved in ways that are non-intrusive, and that sections that were beloved remained unchanged. In short, it's a product of someone who genuinely cares about preserving the essence of the original while lightly improving it instead of just throwing a bunch of crap at it in hopes some of it will stick.
