Heretic Retro PC review for MS DOS.
7Hello there how are you. As I was thinking hey why not a Retro Pc Review I been Reviewing Retro games on Consoles and Handhelds and I decide to also Reviewing pc retro games specifically Ms dos and Old windows 95 or 98 games.
In this review I'm to talk about heretic which is a FPS from Raven Software and ID Software it is a DOOM clone because it use the DOOM Engine also known as ID tech 1 which is no surprise in the 90's they were a lot of DOOM CLONES out there so is no stranger to produce another one this was pretty normal but the Name of the game cause all of trouble for Raven because most think that is a lot religious stuff but in reality the game is talking about the Three brothers (D'Sparil, Korax, and Eidolon), known as the Serpent Riders, have used their powerful magic to possess seven kings of Parthoris, turning them into mindless puppets and corrupting their armies. The Sidhe elves resist the Serpent Riders' magic. The Serpent Riders thus declared the Sidhe as heretics and waged war against them. Unfortunately people hate it and they didn't get it as result the game was forgotten and overshadow by DOOM 2 since this game came out same as DOOM 2 1994.
So raven change the name to HEXEN for the sequel in 1995 one year before QUAKE.
