Tried to draw some of the regular enemies for the picture but i wasnt able to figure out what they were supposed to be shaped like when considering both the sideways and forward facing sprites. might be for the best anyway, Flip facing down a moody-looking Tetron alone looks pretty cool.
I always find myself covering songs that involve drawing either robots, knights, or robot knights for the cover... is this some kind of subconscious influence?
Anyway, Hero Core. good game, good soundtrack, and surprisingly memorable characters for what it is. Apparently the music was played on an actual NES and then recorded on cassette? sure, obviously, why wouldn't it?
You can download and play Hero Core for free! Check it out if you like space, shooters, bullets, dodging bullets, dodging and shooting bullets in space, that sort of thing.
(note: Hero Core is not a Space Shooter, the genre. its is actually a bullethell metroidvania. i was so caught up in the excitement of shooting things in space that this slipped my mind. sorry for any confusion.)
