Immediately after Gotai completes his pilgrimage to the birthplace of the orcs in the hostile Silver Cities, he receives an enormous boost to his personal power--just in time, because Alaric arrives with a staggering Haven army with over five thousand units. There is, however, an orc strategy that can allow Gotai to defeat him very easily, if he has the right mix of troops.
The strategy involves the powerful Untamed Cyclops (or even regular cyclopeses), which has a powerful wide-area hand-to-hand attack. Although moderately slow, the Cyclopses can be driven to act faster by not only a high morale which Orcs can muster, but with the Chieftain unit. The damage inflicted by the Chieftains when they drive a unit to act more swiftly is typically absorbed by the cyclops's sheer toughness as well as the Orcs' Rage ability. With several stacks of Chieftains, a cyclops can act several times in succession before even fairly fast enemy units can act.
