The classic teen romantic comedy She’s All That gets a modern retelling in the Netflix gender swapped remake He’s All That. The film stars TikTok sensation Addison Rae and Cobra Kai breakout star Tanner Buchanan as well as two of the original film’s stars Rachel Leigh Cook and Matthew Lillard. The remake follows Padgett Sawyer, a popular high school girl who lives a life of luxury as a social media influencer. After a brutal breakup with her influencer boyfriend, she makes a bet that she can turn the school wallflower Cameron into the next Prom King. Though as she gets to know more about Cameron, she starts to fall in love with him and the feeling seems to be mutual. For as popular as Addison Rae is, He’s All That marks her first acting role in a major movie and she looked up to veterans of the genre such as Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston for inspiration! The producers behind the film were such big fans of Tanner Buchanan’s work as Robby Keene in Cobra Kai, that they knew they had to secure him for the male lead! Rae initially had some mishaps during filming as she would frequently forget her lines, but as production went on she became more and more comfortable in front of the camera. Rae even helped bring her real-life friend Kourtney Kardashian to act in a supporting role in the film! Filming for the remake took place during the pandemic which made the pre-production and production stages far from the norm, but the cast and crew definitely seemed to make the best out of the experience!
