It's time for something very, very special! I spent $100 on equipment and over 18 hours of guideless tweaking to do something normally impossible: emulating the N64 game Hey You, Pikachu!

For the many likely unaware of this game, it was totally experimental and absolutely charming. Not a 10/10 game, sure, but one smack in the middle of Nintendo really testing the waters with the Pokemon franchise. It's also nostalgic as heck for me.

This game requires the use of the VRU, which allows you to speak to Pikachu in the game. This is something normally un-emulatable, but thanks to a specific physical setup, I've made it happen. And with me setting up upscaled 3D models and uprezzed textures, as well as a generally-improved framerate, this will be the BEST-looking playthrough of HYP available online, and the ONLY full playthrough of the game not recorded through a capture card. And all with almost-perfect performance! (There is one emulator-only video bug that I couldn't get rid of, but it is situational and will not significantly impact the experience. :D)
