I recently visited Hidaka, Japan and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The 12PM hourly chime is based off of the Japanese children's folk song Donguri Korokoro, which translates to "Rolling Acorn".

I didn't see any rolling acorns in Hidaka while I was there, but maybe that's because I was there in late winter/early spring.
