HIGHLIGHTS: Le Mans Virtual Series Round 1 Monza Qualifying
47It begins. With qualifying now complete for the first-ever Le Mans Virtual Series race, the grid is set for the event that mixes the best from real-world and virtual motorsport.
In the GTE, BMW Team Redline took pole position thanks to a supreme lap by esports stalwart Kevin Siggy. The gaps were super tight, however, with the top five covered by a mere 0.045. Proton Competition will line up second and the works-backed Porsche Esports Team in third.
Onto the LMP2 category next, and there was plenty of drama during their qualifying session, with a few moments for drivers through the Lesmo corners and a spin through Curva de Serraglio.
Once it had all settled down, the Romain Grosjean R8G Esports quad topped the time sheets thanks to a lap by former GT Pro Series champion Erhan Jajovski. The two ByKOLLES-Burst Esports affiliated cars lined up second and third.
