Fear is the mind killer, and right now some former residents of Hinamizawa are REALLY freaking scared after seeing what's happened to their hometown. So scared, in fact, that, spoiler alert...
... their ensuing actions bring fear and chaos into the lives of those around them, as Natsumi and her family can certainly attest to after the events of this very episode. There's still the underlying tension between Natsumi and her friends, of course, but given everything else that's going on it's a bit difficult for both Neo and Natsumi to really dwell on such comparatively trivial matters at the moment.
