Hitman 3 is “already profitable” after just one week, developer IO Interactive has revealed.

The game – which released on January 20th – sees the third and final instalment in the ‘World of Assassination’ trilogy and IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak has announced that they have already “recouped the total project costs in less than a week”.

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Abrak shared that they “have been really happy with the Hitman 3 journey” and says, “It has been a labour of love between our fans and everyone at the studio.”

He continues to share that as the developer and publisher, they are “immensely proud that we can say Hitman 3 is already profitable… [and they] have recouped the total project costs in less than a week”.

Abrak adds that this result puts them in a really good place and allows them to confidently move forward with their “ambitious plans for future projects."
