Long ago, on a night like this,
a speck of light split the firmament.
I wished for spring to remain eternal.
Its scent and gleam,
reflections of our dreams, infinite.
The night sky melts over me.
Pouring its blood of molten light,
covering the land.
The specks of golden dew, like tears,
descend one by one,
eventually lost in the mud below.
Breath in, breath out.
Infancy's glow will always be found
on the eyes of the departed,
but what about those
not alive nor dead.
Their shadows, pallbearers
of their hollow minds,
buried under hatred and sorrow,
pain and despair.
Like ash they roam the earth,
blown by a whisper.
Like stars they roam the night,
so distant their warmth.
