Home Opener; 13th Perfect AB
The Red Sox start the new season at home, as they face their division rivals and defending world champions, the Tampa Bay Rays.
In recent seasons, the Tampa Bay Rays and Red Sox have made headlines for a rivalry that has grown increasingly heated. The Tampa Bay Rays burst onto the scene of Major League Baseball and demanded to be taken seriously, bringing the storied Boston Red Sox down from their spot in the baseball pantheon. They definitely got the Red Sox' attention recently, when they won their 1st World Series title back in the Postseason. The main reason behind their triumph was their elite player, who was traded from the San Diego Padres to join them and gave them the edge over the AL East division. Now, he has signed with the Boston Red Sox, but the Rays weren't going to be outdone, in terms of star power, as they signed some elite stars of their own.
Their Opening Day rivalry is completely one-sided with the Red Sox having an perfect record over the Rays and they look to continue it in their 6th Opening Day encounter
