Here is a time lapse of about 40-50 hours of game development.
Made for the Ludum Dare 30 Jam, this game is a sort of top-down dungeon crawler with lots of monsters, keys and some special weapons to collect.

Download and play the game here:

I was streaming the whole process. Follow me on Twitch to catch my next stream:

I initially planned the game to be a Competition entry (2 days, need to make everything yourself), but at the end of the second day, I decided to make it a Jam entry instead, giving me an extra day and allowing me to receive some outside help. cBoyardee made the game's three BGM tracks (heard througout this time lapse) during that final, extra day,

The game was mostly improvised, I had only a vague idea of what I was doing at first. It was only starting to solidify on the second day! But I had a lot of fun, and I really like the result. Hope you have some fun exploring!

I ended up wasting a lot of time because I designed a much bigger maze, and its all functionnal with walls, enemies, keys, items and doors, but only had the time to give graphics to the first two areas you come across. When I had only a few hours left, I decided to focus on adding more content to those first two areas, putting enemies there that were meant for later, to make a bit more content accessible and make those areas more interesting.

Its a shame though, I really have to get my maze planning under control when I work with a time limit! Probably wasted over ten hours on that bigger maze, that I could have spent elsewhere...

You can see a glimpse of the whole map early on when Im drawing a plan of the game.
You can actually access the rest of the game's rooms if you find both gold keys in the current game build and unlock both gates to the north, but you will find all those rooms have no textures, making them unplayable. You might be able to feel your way around, but do so at your own risk....
