Honorius, usually remembered as the emperor during the sack of Rome by the Visigoths and the loss of Britain, was not treated kindly by posterity with Procopius writing that he was more concerned with his fowl Rome than the actual city. However, by examining the long reign of this child-emperor what contemporary sources show is that the situation was far more nuanced and that perhaps even Honorius had some decent qualities.
