I don't know if there's enough here to keep my interest. I feel like this is a game I should play and finish, especially now that a sequel will release within the next year. However, something about the game isn't grabbing me like other open-world games. It could be that I don't particularly think Aloy is that interesting of a character beyond her origins. Unfortunately, the story has stopped addressing who her mother might be, and now it's just Aloy the woman and she's coming up short.

I basically stopped playing because I had to travel a long distance and I'm not exactly sure how to get there. One thing that I find particularly annoying is fast-traveling requires a resource. I'm someone who hoards resources until the very end. I don't want to use a fast-travel pack now, because what if I need to use it later? I don't like it.

Still, I am in the beginning of the game and there is plenty more to do. I need to be patient and give it a few more hours before I drop it completely.
