Despite premiering simultaneously on a streaming service, “Wonder Woman 1984” managed the best box office debut of the pandemic, opening with $16.7 million over the Christmas weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.

But not all of the reviews are favorable, with strong words like "hot garbage" and "colossal failure" used by some on social media.

Despite the criticism, Warner Brothers has already given the OK for a third film in the franchise.
