Does Swamp Thing even want to drift at all? His clunky handling is what holds him back. He has a very hard time trying to drift around even the easiest of bends. And even if you manage to overcome this big caveat, Swamp Thing's performance is garbage all around. He may have a large boost level, but it is the Free type. And once that bar is drained completely, it takes too long for it to build back up even if you do quick drifts. Better combine two or more boost-earning actions to make it fill up faster! You're just helpless when you're out of boost and it's the Free type, especially on an off-road vehicle that has almost no handling and is tough to drift.
Swamp Thing just doesn't have what it takes to do well. I mean he looks cool for a buggy, maybe act like a Racing Drone or Swamp Realm resident, but he just can't do much with the combination of Free boost and requiring a bit of effort to drift. Stay away from him if you're willing to do some competitive racing.
