How 10 Years of Minecraft has Changed my Life

To celebrate Minecraft's 10th anniversary, this video is part of a collaboration where various Minecrafter's and YouTubers recall how Minecraft has developed over the past 10 years and how it's developed us.
We'll dive deep and share our stories whether happy or sad, hilarious or depressing.
This video is my story. This is what Minecraft has taught me over the past 10 years and this is why I still play Minecraft in 2019.
Alpha v1.2.3_01 is when I discovered Minecraft in 2010. I didn't really understand the game at the time and couldn't even figure out how to break blocks in Minecraft.
I took a break and came back in Beta 1.3. I created my world with a dungeon really close to spawn and I was such a noob that I didn't even know if mobs spawned on peaceful difficulty.
When Beta 1.4 came out, wolves were added to Minecraft. The Minecraft Wolf shaking off water was probably the highlight of the update.
Beta 1.5 is when I bought my Minecraft account. This is the story behind why my username is "Cheif" rather than "Chief", as the person who created the account couldn't spell Chief properly.
I often regard the difference between Beta 1.7.3 and Beta 1.8.1 as the BIGGEST change I've ever lived through. It feels like the time difference between these two updates were forever but they're only really a few months different.
Sprinting, Drawable Bows, Hunger Bar, XP, Endermen- these were all introduced in Beta 1.8- the game changer. For me, the biggest takeaway was the new lighting engine- as it made me want to improve my building skills and kicked off the construction of Hemrage City 1.0. This would become the foundations of Levaslier.
2012 was an interesting year for Minecrafters- the biggest inspiration for me to start animation and making Levaslier into a Minecraft animation was Captain Sparklez' "Fallen Kingdom" parody of Coldplay's Viva la Vida.
2012 was also the year of my most popular video, "12w08a how to fly in survival mode (no mods)".
In 2013, Hemrage 1.0 would be lost and due to my violent behavior, so would all my friends. Signs of depression started to show when I was 13.
I started learning how to make animations from home and started working on Levaslier episode 1. I also got to know my closest friend, Harry Lam better, and we started construction on Hemrage 2.0.
The major takeaway from all of this was finding out which of my friends were real. If you ever wonder "what does TeamWnJ stand for?", WnJ stands for "Wayne n Julian". Wayne plays "Arkdoc".
2013 is the birth of Arkdoc Levaslier and Cheif Rahyton. Not the players, but the characters that would fill the world of Levaslier.
In 2014, I uploaded the first ever episode of Levaslier (which you can watch on Patreon).
2015 is when I moved to Canada and when Hemrage 2.0 was lost in the event we call "the great purge". Harry and I were devasted as we took a break from Levaslier for 2 years.
I graduated high school at the age of 16 in 2016. I would also be an actor for a feature film "Our Days In 6E" before applying for university in Australia.
Fast forwarding to 2017, I move to Australia and begin university. Harry and I also decided our break was over and that we'd start on Hemrage 3.0.
I would graduate with a Bachelor of Film degree at the end of 2018, and would also achieve ultimate success in getting my own hard work and dedication to PAX Australia 2018.
And here we are now, paving our path for the future.
