How did Godzilla Get his Powers?
Godzilla's powers have largely depended on the movie and the series they're from, considering that there are so many different interpretations of the character. The most prominent versions of Godzilla are the ones that appeared in the Showa (1954-1975), Heisei (1984-1995), and Millennium (2000-2004) eras, in addition to Hollywood’s latest take on him, the MonsterVerse Godzilla...So How did he get his powers? Since the very first incarnation of Godzilla, in 1954, the Big G has had the ability to shoot out the atomic breath, and it comes naturally for him. But in the Monsterverse there is a story from the IWI people on how the Big G got these powers and this turned him evil, so the story goes like this. So in the Novelization of Godzilla vs Kong, there was a conversation between Ilene Andrews and Jia regarding Kong and their history. Although she was deaf, she could still tell the tale passed down by her people for thousands of years, through sign language and also spelling out phonetically. And it all revolves around an ancient eternal enemy which they called Zo zla halawa which is bad lizard, which means that the name is a reference to Godzilla.
