Assessing the Language Learning Strategies of Two Indonesian Young Learners in the USA
Layman Abstract :
This study looks at how Indonesian children learn English when they move to the US, focusing on their strategies and development. The learners showed strong aptitude, motivation, and opportunity, which helped them quickly acquire English. They were eager to communicate, took risks, and practiced actively in natural settings. However, differences between Indonesian and English sentence structures created challenges. The study suggests that teaching English to Indonesian learners should use contrastive analysis, highlighting key differences between the two languages to better support their learning needs.
