How Gaming Helps - Episode 1: PERMA
2Is video gaming good for your mental health? How can it help? Are games as bad as I've heard?
Gaming has had a reputation in the past for being a really bad and damaging hobby. Games can be therapeutic or stress relieving, or even help in ways you wouldn't expect! I wanted to explore the psychological benefits of gaming towards mental health, and how it can be used to help certain mental illnesses. A psychologist named Martin Seligman came up with a theory of wellness, which identifies key traits that make us happy - PERMA in mnemonic terms.
