How Live Service Games Ruined Gaming
- AAA games are dying
- AAA games take too long to make
- Studio like square enix struggle for the simple fact that they dont get a return on investment. for high budget games.
-AAA are finding out that better graphcis dont necessarily help sell games
FF16 was a good example. Not many people were willing to buy a PS5 just to play FF16.
- AAA games are in competition with live service games that people can access right now.
Gaming studios want to put more focus on live service games because they are more profitable. Why spend millions of dollars building a AAA games that pays you once when a live service game pays you multiple times.
- You cant blame companies like square enix for wanting to get into live service gaming when more players prefer to play Fortnite or Genshin Impact on the release date of Final fantasy 7 rebirth or whatever other AAA game.
This is not the 2000s when releasing a AAA game was a big deal and people would buy a console even if their rent was past due.
Now with live service gaming people dont have to wait. They can level up their characters and make friends online until the end of time.
So while Square Enix spends 5 freaking years to make the next HIT final fantasy AAA game. Everyone is playing Genshin Impact or FF
