It was Disney’s tentpole release of the 2022 holiday season. A fun and visually gorgeous pulp adventure that looked to be the studio’s next animated classic. However, it ended up a spectacular FLOP, with opening weekend box-office takings falling more than 50% behind expectations and the movie losing Disney an expected $150 million.
