I take a look at the history and evolution of Tex Avery's Droopy, the impassive, lethargic basset hound created by the legendary Tex Avery in the middle-forties. A dog out of time and space, Droopy lives in a fast-paced, zany world – but never lets it bother him. One of the most important characters, spawning from one of the most ground-breaking series in animation history, Droopy has somehow gone down as a forgotten, underrated and underused gem, appearing in vastly fewer productions over time.
I take a look at how Droopy has evolved and how animators changed his look, personality and visual style. Here's my look at Droopy through the years!
