How to Activate Your KeyBank Debit Card
Activating your KeyBank debit card is a simple process that can be done through the KeyBank mobile app or by phone. Once activated, your card will be ready to use for in-store purchases, online payments, ATM withdrawals, and can also be added to mobile wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay.
To activate via the KeyBank mobile app, first open the app on your device. Sign in using your user ID and password, then tap the “Sign On” button to access your account. Once you're logged in, navigate to the “Manage Card” section, which is usually found under your account dashboard or settings. Select your new debit card from the list of available cards and tap the “Activate” option. Follow the on-screen prompts, which typically include confirming your card number and setting up a PIN if you haven’t done so already.
If you prefer to activate your card by phone, turn the card over and call the toll-free number printed on the back. The automated system will guide you through the process. You'll be asked to enter your full card number, the last four digits of your Social Security number, and possibly your date of birth or other identifying information. You may also be prompted to choose a four-digit PIN during the call.
Both activation methods are secure and take only a few minutes to complete. After activation, it's a good idea to sign the back of your physical card and, if needed, enable additional security settings through the KeyBank app.
