If you damage your USB 3.0 header or you need another, or your board just simply doesn't have one, then this is a cheap and easy way to add a new USB 3.0 header to your system.
Maybe you also need a Type C internal header, not a problem, either.
These are cheap and effective and only take a single PCIe X1 slot. Considerably cheaper than a new motherboard or getting the motherboard repaired or soldered.
